Kings Of The Sky: Eagle

 Eagles are very large as well as small bird .They have heavy heads and beaks and they are powerfully built birds of prey .Smallest eagles such as booted eagle (Aquila pennata) are long in size . They are also recognized as Kings of the sky.

Most of the 60 above species of eagle found in Eurasia and Africa.Two species found in USA and Canada.More than nine species in central and south America and three species in Australia.In our India also eagles are found.approximately  twelve beautiful species of eagle are seen in India  such as subcontinental area of India,Madhyapradesh,Odissa,Nilgiri hills etc.The 12 eagle which are found in India are as follows...

1.Serpent eagle 

They are spreading across Indian subcontinental area,Andaman nikobar islands.They eat reptiles such as snake,lizard etc.In India Mountain serpent eagle, Andaman and south nikobar eagle found in India.

2.Changeable and crested hawk eagle:-

It's scientific name is Nisaetus cirrhatus.It breeds in Indian continent and Himalaya foot hills and nagarhole national Park of India aswll as many parts of world.They are forest dwelling predators.

3.Imperial eagle:-

They are found in the India and Asia.They inhibits open grassland with small woods in the region of rann of Kutch.

4.spotted eagle:-

This eagle found in India native to Indian subcontinent, Madhyapradesh,odisha, Nilgiri hills.Its scientific name is clanga.

5.Steppe eagle:-

It breeds in open and dry habitat like desert,semi desert and steppe area.approximately they have 3 kg of weight.

6.tawny eagle:-

These are migratory steppe eagle.they breed in South Western Asia to India and also found in dry habitat like desert.

7.black eagle:-

These  are large bird.They hunt other birds and mamals.They are found in forest and deep forest like Himalaya foothills, eastern and Western ghat in peninsular India,Asia and China.

8.Fish Eagle:-

They have grey head found in Indian subcontinent and Himalaya foot hills and northern India.They eat fish in river,lake lagoon and breed in forest of Indian subcontinent.

9.Golden eagle:-

They found in the Himalaya region of India.It known as Asian golden eagle or Himalaya golden eagle northern hemispheres.It is dark brown in colour and 3-7 kg of weight.

10.Sea Eagle:-

They found in coastal area.They breeds and hunts near water and fish.They originated from the area of bay of Bengal in India.The life span is 20 years,weight is 6-10 kg and also known as white tailed sea eagle.

11.Booted eagle:-

They are known as hieraaetus,breeds across Asia continent.The bird is one of the closest living relatives of the extinct haast's eagle.

12.Bonelli's eagle:-

It is a large bird found in kawal wild life sanctuary,salgli district and woods or forest area,It is 2kg in weight.

Except of above verities of eagle  many eagle found in various parts of world are follows.

1.Snake eagle:-

These have short toed and medium sized bird.They found in Asia and Indian subcontinent.They eat snake,lizard,rabbit,bird and insects.

2.Bald eagle:

They are found in North America. 3-6.5kg of mass.their lifespan is 20 year.Bald Eagle is national bird of America and also found in Canada and Alaska Mexico.

3.Harpy eagle:

They are 4.8kg in Mass, length is 99cm.It is a neotropical species.It is also called American harpy Eagle and newguinea harpy Eagle found in central America and Brazil.It is the largest and most powerful raptor found in rain forest.

4.Chaco Eagle:-

It is found in the eastern and central south America.They are known as crowned eagle.Its length is 73-79 cm and weight is 3 kg.
